The skill

Wrangler is a skill that runs and troubleshoots Wrangler CLI commands in projects with a Wrangler config: local dev, Previews, deploys, secrets and resources, checked against current Cloudflare docs.

Only when you ask.

The habit

Config changes checked before deploy.

↻ Runs by itselfWrangler config changed

How the habit works.
You don't have to.

Three questionsWhen does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?

One run, step by step.
Then it stops.

Stop ruleStops after one pull request per run, with at most 1 retry.

  1. 01

    Inspect the project

Find the package manager, local Wrangler version, scripts and the config the build uses.

  2. 02

    Fix the target

Name the account, Worker, environment and resource the change affects.

  3. 03

    Retrieve docs

Check flags and fields in wrangler --help, the installed config-schema.json and Cloudflare docs.

  4. 04

    Check environments

Confirm bindings and variables are set per environment where inheritance does not apply.

  5. 05

    Validate

Run wrangler types, the typecheck and wrangler deploy --dry-run.

  6. 06

    Report

Report what changed, the target, checks run and any gaps a dry run cannot prove.

What it may do.
Nothing more.

Safe by defaultIt writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.

Is it for you?
Use it when it fits.

Quick checkRead both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Wrangler skill helps.

Use it when

  • ✓ Your project has a wrangler.jsonc or wrangler.toml
  • ✓ You add a binding or environment
  • ✓ You set up Workers Previews

Skip it when

  • – You start a new project without Wrangler config
  • – Your project uses cloudflare.config.ts

Questions

Wrangler skill, answered.

Does a dry run prove it works?

No. The skill says it checks build and packaging, not remote resources or runtime behavior.

What about new projects?

The skill says to use the cf CLI for projects without a Wrangler config.

Is wrangler secret put safe in a check?

No. The skill treats it as a deployment, so this loop never runs it.

How do I install the Wrangler skill?

Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from cloudflare/skills and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add cloudflare/skills --skill wrangler.

Is the Wrangler skill free?

Yes. It is published under Apache-2.0. Habit is free too.
