Fallow

by fallow-rs · 10K installs

The skill

The fallow skill gives an agent codebase intelligence for TypeScript and JavaScript: changed-code risk, dead code, duplication, circular dependencies, complexity hotspots and architecture boundaries, all as machine-readable JSON.

Only when you ask.

The habit

Every PR gets a risk verdict.

↻ Runs by itselfpull request opened

How the habit works.
You don't have to.

Three questionsWhen does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?

One run, step by step.
Then it stops.

Stop ruleStops after one pull request per run and at most 1 retry.

  1. 01

    Run the audit

Run fallow audit --base against the target branch with --format json --quiet.

  2. 02

    Read the guide

Run fallow audit --walkthrough-guide and read its decisions and change anchors.

  3. 03

    Write a judgment

Write a judgment file citing only ids the guide emitted, keeping it outside the project tree.

  4. 04

    Let fallow check it

Run fallow audit --walkthrough-file so fallow validates the judgment against the live graph.

  5. 05

    Report accepted

Report only the accepted judgments and add the verdict to the log.

What it may do.
Nothing more.

Safe by defaultIt writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.

Is it for you?
Use it when it fits.

Quick checkRead both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Fallow skill helps.

Use it when

  • ✓ You audit PR risk before merge
  • ✓ You hunt unused code or dependencies
  • ✓ You set up a CI quality gate

Skip it when

  • – You debug a runtime error
  • – The project is not JavaScript or TypeScript

Questions

Fallow skill, answered.

Does it delete code on its own?

No. This loop audits and reports; the fix cycle needs a separate dry-run and your go-ahead.

Is fallow security a vulnerability scan?

No. It surfaces candidates for a human to verify, not confirmed vulnerabilities.

Which languages does it cover?

TypeScript and JavaScript only.

How do I install the Fallow skill?

Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from fallow-rs/fallow-skills and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add fallow-rs/fallow-skills --skill fallow.

Is the Fallow skill free?

Yes. It is published under MIT. Habit is free too.
