The skill
Writes short rule files that your coding agent can follow.
Only when you ask.
Fewer mistakes
Your agent rules stay short and true. Fewer wrong moves and less time lost.
↻ Runs by itselfonce a month
When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after one root file and up to 3 nested files per run.
Your agent reads lock files, package.json, Makefile, CI workflows and docs such as CONTRIBUTING.md.
It keeps root AGENTS.md for defaults and nested files only where rules differ.
It updates only sections that add non-obvious value, in tables and bullets.
It checks each path and command really exists.
It commits the change so the history shows what moved.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the AGENTS.md skill helps.
No. CLAUDE.md is a symlink to AGENTS.md, never a second copy.
The target is under 60 lines, never more than 100.
Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from getsentry/skills and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add getsentry/skills --skill agents-md.
