The skill
The redis observability skill helps ops teams decide which Redis metrics to monitor and alert on, and which built-in commands like SLOWLOG, INFO and MEMORY DOCTOR to use during incident triage.
Only when you ask.
The habit
Catch Redis trouble before users do.
↻ Runs by itselfhourly health check
When does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?
Stops after one reading and at most one triage per instance per run.
Run INFO and pull memory, clients, ops per second, hits, misses and last save time.
Check each metric against its alert condition and the last readings.
If a limit trips, run SLOWLOG GET 10, MEMORY DOCTOR and CLIENT LIST.
Write the reading and send a short note when a check fails.
It writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.
Read both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Redis Observability skill helps.
No. The skill says metrics should be exported to your monitoring system; this loop adds triage.
No. It only reads SLOWLOG GET; it does not run SLOWLOG RESET.
Copy the prompt at the top into your agent. It installs the skill from redis/agent-skills and sets up the habit. Or run npx skills add redis/agent-skills --skill redis-observability.
