The skill

The argent react native profiler skill helps React Native developers measure re-renders and CPU hotspots on Hermes apps, produce ranked reports and compare before and after a fix.

Only when you ask.

The habit

Render regressions show up early.

↻ Runs by itselfweekly profiling run

How the habit works.
You don't have to.

Three questionsWhen does it start? How does it check its work? What does it remember?

One run, step by step.
Then it stops.

Stop ruleStops after one profiling scenario per run and your answer on next steps.

  1. 01

    Set the metric

The agent reads the log for the target metric and threshold, such as totalRenderMs.

  2. 02

    Start profilers

It starts react-profiler-start and native-profiler-start in parallel with the same device_id.

  3. 03

    Replay the flow

It replays the e2e test from argent-create-e2e with e2e-execute and annotates each interaction.

  4. 04

    Stop and analyze

It stops both profilers, runs react-profiler-analyze and native-profiler-analyze, then profiler-combined-report.

  5. 05

    Compare

It reloads last week's session with profiler-load and compares the metric honestly.

  6. 06

    Ask next step

It shows the findings and asks you whether to investigate, fix or stop.

What it may do.
Nothing more.

Safe by defaultIt writes only in its own folder and asks you before anything goes out.

Is it for you?
Use it when it fits.

Quick checkRead both lists. If the left one sounds like you, the Argent React Native Profiler skill helps.

Use it when

  • ✓ You measure before and after a fix
  • ✓ Components re-render too often
  • ✓ You need a ranked performance report

Skip it when

  • – You only have a physical iPhone
  • – You want lint-style fixes only

Questions

Argent React Native Profiler skill, answered.

Why replay an e2e test instead of tapping by hand?

The skill says a recorded flow removes interaction differences, so before and after numbers can be compared.

Is a 5 percent change a regression?

Not by itself. The skill treats changes under about 10 to 15 percent as possible noise.

How do I install the Argent React Native Profiler skill?
